YARN USED:

Michaels Brand: Baby Rainbow (4) 100% polyester (less than one ball 364 yds) colorway “Sky Blue” This yarn states that it is a (4) but it works up as a (3) I was able to achieve the exact same gauge swatch using Lion Brand Coboo and Bernat Baby Softee. They are both considered a (3)

SUPPLIES:

STITCH MARKERS, MEASURING TAPE, SCISSORS, YARN NEEDLE FOR WEAVING IN YARN TAILS.
OPTIONAL: MINIATURE BOWS MADE OUT OF 1/8” GROSGRAIN RIBBON OR ANY OTHER EMBELLISHMENT YOU WOULD LIKE.

Gauge: 

Newborn size using a F 5/3.75MM – 4” x 4” = 16 st’s across x 8 rows high
Make a swatch, ch27, dc in 3rd chain from hook and in each ch across, ch2 & turn; *dc in each st across, ch1 and turn* repeat 11x

3 month size using a G 6/4.00mm – 4” x 4” = 17 st’s across x 8 rows high
Make a swatch, ch27, dc in 3rd chain from hook and in each ch across, ch2 & turn; *dc in each st across, ch1 and turn* repeat 11x

Crochet Hook:

Newborn (G 6/4.00mm) hook          3 month (F 5/3.75MM) hook

Stitch Guide:

join w/ = join with
slp st = Slip Stitch
ch = Chain  
sc = single Crochet
hdc = hdc
hdc dec = Yarn over, insert hook in nxt st, pull up a loop, (3 loops on hook) with remaining loops on hook, yarn over, insert hook in nxt st, pull up a loop (6 loops on hook) Yarn over, pull through all loops on hook
sp = Space
nxt = Next
st = Stitch
*  * = Execute sequence between the stars, the number of times stated
x = Times; example Repeat 2 x or 2 times; 3 x or 3 times and so on.

Free Crochet Pattern for the Over Brook Baby Shoes

 Round 1:

ch 10, 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook; sc in nxt 5 st’s; hdc in nxt 2 st’s; 8 hdc in last ch; Working down the other side of your chain; hdc in nxt 2 st’s; sc in nxt 5 st’s; 2sc in last st; join w/ slp st in top of beg. sc (26 st’s)

Round 2:
ch1, 2 sc in joining st, 2 sc in nxt st; sc in nxt 8 st’s; 2 sc in nxt 5 st’s; sc in nxt 10 st’s; 2 sc in nxt st; join w/ slp st in top of beg. sc (34 st’s) Sole measurement; newborn = 3”    3 months = 3 ¼”

Round 3:
ch 2; hdc in joining st, and in each st around; join w/ slp st in top of beg. hdc (34 st’s)

Round 4:
Repeat Round 3



Round 5:
ch1, sc in joining st, sc in nxt 8 st’s; *hdc in nxt st, hdc dec *6x; sc in nxt 8 st’s; join w/ slp st in top of beg. sc (28 st’s)

Round 6:
ch1, sc in joining st, sc in nxt 9 st’s; *hdc dec* 7x; sc in nxt 5 st’s; join w/slp st in top of beg. sc (21 st’s)

Round 7 :
ch1, sc in joining st, sc in nxt 10 st’s; *hdc dec* 3x; sc in nxt 5 st’s; join w/slp st in top of beg. sc (18 st’s)

Round 8:
*ch4, slp st in nxt st;* 10x; slp st in the nxt 3 st’s; *ch4, slp st in nxt st;* 4x; ch4 slp st in 1st ch of beg. ch4, end off and weave in all ends.

Tie a miniature bow using ¼” grosgrain ribbon, and sew on to the shoe, right below the three slp st’s were made in round 8. The link below will show you how to tie a pull tie bow. The video is using a larger ribbon, but you will use the same steps.
