Crochet Hanger For Mason Jar Welcome Home Pineapple Cover

I love how creative Wendy of Wendys Buzy Bee Designs is. Psst…please go visit and like her Facebook page! Wendy and I have been long time internet friends, and it was crochet that brought us together. When she showed me the modifications to the “Welcome Home Pineapple Tea Light Jar Cover” I immediately asked her if I could share with you how she made the hanger for this Mason Jar Cover.

Keep Scrolling to find the “Hanger Instructions Only”

Wendy loves to crochet. She says that “I started crocheting with my fingers when I was eight, and moved on to hooks shortly after. I will be 57 this year. I love crocheting for my family more than anything. And love to crochet for others too. I really like trying new things to crochet with, tee shirts, plastic, wire, para cord, old cassette tape. It’s all an adventure!”

Well I am happy she is so adventurous! I love how she made this hanger! Split rings  or key rings are easy to find and the Welcome Home Pineapple Tea Light Mason Jar Covers are quick to make, so that you can hang several around the garden or the porch, and you can light up your nights, as you enjoy your summer!

You can also make the Welcome Home Pineapple Basket, and then make a few of the Welcome Home Pineapple Soap Bags for folks to use in the bath. The children will need those after a hard night of catching fireflies and playing hide and go seek in the dark.

WendysBuzyBeeDesigns   “Hanger for the Welcome Home Pineapple Jar Cover” Crochet Pattern

Hook: H/8-5.00mm

Stitch Guide
join w/ = join with
SLP ST = Slip Stitch
CH = Chain
SC = Single Crochet

Use matching yarn or yarn of your choice!

Make a Chain length that is long enough to go around the neck of the jar, CH 1 more and then proceed to SC back down the length of the Chain. Do Not Cut the yarn.

Starting from the inside of the jar cover, weave the Chain Length Through “Pineapple Top or Crown” at Round 1, then join w/SLP ST, you should still be working on the inside of the jar cover.

Divide the Chain length in thirds, and place markers on the inside of the jar cover, at each third mark.

1. SLP ST to first marker; CH 39, SC around a Split Ring; SLP ST back down the Chain length.

2. SLP ST to 2nd marker; skipping any CH that is on the outside of the jar cover without bunching the crown too much, or make a CH or two to pass over that area; CH 39 & SC around the same Split Ring, SLP ST back down the Chain length.

3.  SLP ST to 3rd marker; skipping any CH that is on the outside of the jar cover without bunching the crown too much, or make a CH or two to pass over that area; CH 39 & SC around the same Split Ring, SLP ST back down the Chain length.

4. SLP ST skipping any CH that is on the outside of the jar cover without bunching the crown too much,or make a CH or two to pass over that area, all the way around to the beginning. End off and weave in all ends.

Your jar cover is ready to hang now. Add a battery powered tea light, and you are ready to light things up with your “Welcome Home Jar Cover”.
