Crochet Heart Scrubby

A heart scrubby can be a great help in the kitchen. I am a lover of Red Heart Scrubby Sparkle Yarn, and your children will love helping you clean, when they can use this easy to crochet heart scrubby. Purchase the ad free pdf at Ravelry Etsy,

I sometimes use affiliate links in my posts. This won’t cost you anything, but will help offset the cost of yarn and other supplies needed, so that I can continue bringing you crochet patterns and craft ideas. Thank you so much for your support.

The Heart Scrubby is so much fun to use and to crochet.

The Pink Heart scrubby was made using Red Heart Scrubby Cotton. I had a hard time using this yarn, as it became snagged and tangled so easily. For this reason I didn’t make it two sided. It will be wonderful as a face scrubby though.

I was told by a few experienced crocheter’s to hold a another strand of yarn with it, so that it doesn’t become tangled so easily. I will try that next time.

From The Heart Scrubby – Crochet Pattern

Yarn & Yardage Information:

Red Heart Scrubby Sparkle yarn; CC= 35 to 40 yds.

Red Heart Scrubby Cotton yarn; appox 20 to 25 yds. (one side only) I don’t recommend the picot trim using this yarn, as it snags. I also don’t recommend sewing two layers together, when using this yarn.

Pic 2 is showing how to lay this half moon portion on to the upper right corner of the main body of the heart, along the strait edge. Pic 3 is showing how to sew on the heart, and pic 4 is showing how the heart looks when you open up the half moon.  Take a little time to finger press and smash the seam. The seam will always be the back of the heart.
(Demonstrated in Video)

If making a 2 sided heart, make one more heart and place with wrong sides together. Make sure the seam is to the inside, as this is the wrong side. Match all edges & Sew them together. Finish off and weave in all yarn tails. You now have an adorable scrubby, but if you would like, you can add the optional picot edge. Remember to switch to an I-9/5.50 mm crochet hook to make the picot round.

Optional ch3 & Picot Edging:

Round 1: Use an I-9/5.50 mm hook; ch3 round

Use CC, attach yarn with a sc to the side of the heart. (demonstrated in video) *ch3, skp a couple of stitches or a space, as it is hard to define the stitches at this point, sc in nxt st or sp.* repeat between *  * around the heart, making sure to execute a sc at the deep V at the top of the heart. Execute a sc, ch3, sc at the point of the heart.Continue around & Join with slp st to beg. sc. Pic 1 is showing a snippet of how the heart looks with the ch 3 spaces. Pic 2 is showing all of the ch3 spaces completed.
