This fun bucket hat will delight any child or fun loving adult.

Easter season will be a blast when you can gift or wear this adorable Bunny Bucket Hat. That’s right, this is designed for adults as well as 12mo-18mo and toddlers. This hat would be fun to wear when playing dress up!

Embellishing with cute ribbon bows is easy.

A video tutorial is found RIGHT HERE that will show you how to make those cute little pull tie bows.

Having this easy to crochet Cross Stitch or X Stitch at the band makes the perfect beading row for you to weave in a bit of ribbon or lace, if you so choose.

Adding Bunny ears to the hat at the band is not hard.

After you crochet the bunny ears, sew them together. There is no need for wire or foam, as these ears are sturdy and will easily shape into place.

The ridge at the top of the Bunny Bucket Hat is unique and easy to crochet.

Bucket hats are quick to crochet as you will hold two strands of yarn to make the hat. That High Back Post Half Double Crochet makes this bucket hat and all bucket hats designed by me stand out. The Bonfire Bucket Hat was the first one that I designed and the Leprechaun Bucket Hat was second.

Every child will want to wear this hat on Easter Sunday morning or for a time of pretend.

Leave out the ribbon and bows the use brown & gray colors for an adorable unisex hat. Purchase the complete crochet pattern now at RAVELRY or ETSY

Written instruction

on “How To Sew” the ear pieces together.

There is also a video tutorial. Click this link.

How To Sew The Bunny Ears To The Crochet Bunny Bucket Hat

1. Put the front ear piece on top of the back ear piece. Match the sides together. Using an H 5.00 crochet hook, and approximately 2.5 yds of yarn sew the ear pieces together using a slp st.
With the front piece facing you, start at the bottom corner, sew them together with your crochet hook, using a loose slp st & make a picot stitch at the very tip top.

2. After the ear is completely sewn together, pinch the bottom of the ear together to make it smaller, using the yarn tail to sew around it to keep it pinched and small. Then shape the ear so that it looks like a wave. a) Molding and cupping the bottom out, letting it cup away from you. b) Mold the middle portion toward you. c) Push and mold the tip of the ear toward you.

3. Repeat steps 1 & 2 until both ears are finished.

4. Pin the “pinched” portion [step 2] of the ears to the brim of the hat, in the approximate place that the eyebrows would be, at the last Round of the colored band, right before the brim flares out. a) Using a yarn needle and the yarn tail, sew the pinched portion in place. b) Using a different piece of yarn sew the Middle portion, [step2, sub step b] to the hat. You may want to slightly tip the ears toward the outside of the hat, before sewing the middle portion in place.

5. Optional: Use a portion of ribbon and weave in and out of the Cross stitch round, for an extra bit of embellishment. You can add a pull tie bow to the side of the hat, or to the base of the ears. Links on how to make a pull tie bow are in the “Designer Notes”.

Bucket Hats are so much fun to wear and you can made a basic hat in a couple of hours.
