Button Application
Sew a button or ribbon at the center of the front flap Pic 1 (Test your button to make sure it will go between the Stitches) When sewing the button to cover, place match under the button, so that the stitching is raised up Pic 2, then wrap the thread around all of the threads under the button, creating a “thread shank”. Pic 3 Watch this video to see how to sew a “Thread Shank”.
Fabric Patch Tutorial
Pic 1 After you have chosen your fabric, cutting as close to the grain as possible, cut in 1 ¾” squares. Pic 2 Remove the threads from the fabric squares. Approx. ¼”
Pic 1 Using the felt patch as a pattern, cut a piece of Heat n Bond, Wonder Under, Stitch Witchery, or any kind of iron on adhesive. Pic 2 Then trim 1/8” off the adhesive patch.
Pic1 Take Iron adhesive patch & fabric to ironing board. With hot, NO STEAM iron, iron the patch to the BACK of the fabric squares, removing the pin at the last minute. Pic 2 Let cool and peel the paper away. Pic 3 This will leave the adhesive on the fabric.
