Yes! It’s made from 100% polyester, giving it the textured fibers that make it excellent for scrubbing.
Will it scratch my cookware?
No. It’s designed to clean effectively without scratching most cookware and bakeware.
Can I machine wash my crochet scrubby?
Absolutely! Toss it into the washing machine and dryer whenever it needs freshening up. It also holds up well in the top rack of many dishwashers.
Does the yarn stretch out after washing?
No. One of the nice qualities of this yarn is that it keeps its shape wash after wash.
Can I use this yarn for clothing?
I don’t recommend it for garments because of its scrubby texture. It’s much happier living in your kitchen than in your wardrobe!

- Approx. 8–10 yards White
- Approx. 20–25 yards Green
- Small amount of Black yarn (optional) for embroidered watermelon seeds

Do not end off but pull and make the last loop bigger, or add a marker in the last loop, so that the stitches don’t start pulling out.
End off and weave in all yarn tails.
Embroider the watermelon seeds using a little bit of black scrubby yarn if you choose.
Fold the watermelon in half with the last loop that you made right at the fold.
Make a strong crease remembering that the fold begins at the last loop.
With the watermelon folded in half, insert your hook back in the loop, and begin to crochet through all stitches, closing the watermelon. When you get to the fold at the opposite side, chain 15 (Optional hanging loop) and slp st back into the last st made. End off and weave in all ends. I hope you enjoyed using this crochet pattern.
