Krissys Over The Mountain Crochet

And Crafts

Vintage Inspired Baby Afghan

I love lacey Vintage Afghans. They send me to a time far away when mothers would wrap their little babes in lace shawls and afghans. I knew I needed to design a vintage inspired afghan for my first grandchild, sometimes life can throw you an unexpected curve ball. Baby E was due the first of June, but he had other plans, and he arrived early! That meant that grandma had to hurry up and finish his afghan. The race was on, and I was up to the task. It was finished just in time for his arrival home from the hospital.

I used the border that Doris Chan has on her All Shawl design. I did leave the picot off, now I wish I had taken the time to add it.

I love this baby shawl you made for your Grandson. It is beautiful and I wonder where I can find the instructions on how to crochet it.

Hi there Meme, Things were so busy when he was born that I didn’t write the pattern. I may do that in the future. The border on that blanket is from Doris Chan’s design, All Shawl. It’s a pretty popular pattern. You can find it on Ravelry.
