Your little ones will be so sweet in their candy corn hats this fall season. Add a cute t-shirt or make a matching candy corn sweater and they are set for a visit to the pumpkin patch or a stroll around town.
Embellishments are easy and I’ll give you some tips at the end of the crochet pattern.
I sold a lot of these at craft shows and I want you to have the pattern. They are so nice displayed on your table with matching candy corn shoes.
The stitch combination is easy, and makes a really unique texture.

Embellishments
Sew plastic buttons on with needle and thread, then thread 7” piece of yarn or ribbon into yarn needle. The easiest way to sew on that button is to start by going down at the three oclock position, leaving a tail, come back up at 12 oclock, back down at 6 oclock, and back up at 9 o’clock, securely tie yarn into a knot. Trim and separate
strands if using yarn.

You can also add pretty lace trims, making sure to stretch the hat, and pin in place, or the hat will be too tight. Stretch the hat as you sew the lace in place, and then add buttons or hand sew a bow or two…the possibilities are endless
If you want to add the layered button look to your hat, place buttons how you want them Pic 1, then scotch tape them in place Pic 2, Sew them in place. Pic 3 carefully remove scotch tape.
