3D Orange Dishcloth Crochet Pattern

This 3D Orange Dishcloth Crochet Pattern is easy to read, and fast to crochet. Let this orange dishcloth help you make memories with your friends and family. A 3D orange or clementine dishcloth is easy to crochet. Use this free crochet pattern to make a whole bushel for your friends and family.

The yarn used is easily found online, or at your local Walmart or craft store.

Lily Sugar n Cream (4) aran or worsted weight, cotton yarn is a great choice. Hot Orange and Sage Green were used. There are many other cotton dishcloth yarns that can be used for this project. Dishie yarn from knit picks is a good choice. Hobby Lobby has a line of dishcloth yarn called Crafter’s Secret.

The 3D orange dishcloth is perfect for gift giving.

Crochet a collection of citrus scrubby’s and 3D dishcloth’s, throw them in a basket with cleaning supplies and you have a quick housewarming or Bridal gift. It is hard to tell which lemon design folks love the best, as the 3D lemon dishcloth as well as the Lemon Scrubby, sell very well at Ravelry and Etsy. Lily Sugar ‘n Cream (4)
100% cotton
40 yds/36.6

Hook:

H–8/5.0mm 

Stitch Guide:

join w/ = join with

slp sts = Slip Stitch

ch = Chain   

sc = Single Crochet

hdc = Half Double Crochet

dc = Double Crochet

sp = Space

dec = Decrease-sc two together

nxt = Next

st = Stitch

*  * = Execute sequence between the stars, the number of times stated

x = Times; example Repeat 2 x or 2 times; 3 x or 3 times and so on

3D Orange Dishcloth Crochet Pattern

Using green yarn; ch3 join in a ring. I don’t recommend the magic circle, as it can open up with the vigorous use a dishcloth goes through.
How to ch3 and join in a ring video link.

Round 1:

ch1, *sc in ring* 7x; drop green and pull up orange at the join w/slp st to beg. sc (7sc)

Round 2:

ch1, 2sc in joining st and in each st around; join w/slp to beg. sc (14 sc)

Round 3:

ch1, sc in joining st; 2sc in nxt; *sc in nxt st, 2sc in nxt st;* 6x; join w/slp st to beg. sc (21 sc)

Round 4:

ch1, sc in joining st & nxt st; 2sc in nxt; *(sc in nxt st) 2x; 2sc in nxt st;* 6x; join w/slp st to beg. sc (28 sc)

Round 5:

ch1, sc in joining st & nxt 2 st’s; 2sc in nxt; *(sc in nxt st)3x; 2sc in nxt st;* 6x; join w/slp st to beg. sc (35 sc)

Round 6:

ch1, sc in joining st & nxt 3 st’s; 2sc in nxt; *(sc in nxt st)4x; 2sc in nxt st;* 6x; join w/slp st to beg. sc (42 sc)

Round 7-11:

ch1, sc in joining st and in each st around; join w/slp st to beg. sc (42 sc)

Round 12:

ch1, sc in joining st; sc in nxt 3 st’s, dec; *sc in nxt 4 st’s, dec* 6x; join w/slp st to beg. sc
(35 sc)

Round 13:

ch1, sc in joining st; sc in nxt 2 st’s, dec; *sc in nxt 3 st’s, dec* 6x; join w/slp st to beg. sc
(28 sc)

Round 14:

ch1, sc in joining st; sc in nxt st, dec; *sc in nxt  st’s, dec* 6x; join w/slp st to beg. sc (21 sc)

Round 15:

ch1, sc in joining st; dec; *sc in nxt st, dec* 6x; join w/slp st to beg. sc (14 sc)

Round 16: 

ch1; *dec;* 7x; skip last st; join w/slp st to beg dec; end off orange; pull up green as you slp st in the dec st that is opposite the joining st. (7 st’s)

Flatten and shape the orange by pulling north to south, then east to west. 

Round 17:

This round makes the hanging loop.

ch 18; slp st beside the join of round 16. End off and weave in all ends.

Leaf Crochet Pattern for the 3D Orange Dishcloth Crochet Pattern

Use green yarn; ch 7, sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in nxt ch, dc in nxt 2 ch’s, hdc in nxt ch, sc 2x in last ch, picot; sc in last ch 1 more time; you will be working on the back of the ch, hdc in nxt ch, dc in nxt 2 ch’s,, hdc in nxt ch, sc in last ch, slp st in first sc made, end off.

    I’m a bit confused by this pattern. I don’t know if its a typo but how can row 6 also have the same amount of stitches as row 5? You have them both as 35 stitches but have increases in row 6. When I follow row 6 as written I get 45 stitches not 35. Am I reading it wrong?

      My apologies…that was more than a typo…I left out an entire round and that threw the whole thing off…well there was a typo too. I believe it is fixed now. If you need any other help, please let me know. Thank you for getting in touch with me.
