Let me show you how to crochet a Sunflower sachet. It is really easy. Just a little bit of crochet is needed. Use your favorite scent. Combine it with a little bit of polyfil stuffing.
Put the scented stuffing in the amigurumi sunflower.
Toss them in your drawer. Hang them in your closet with your clothing. Toss them in the trunk of your car. I was told the little scented pumpkins are great to put in the cup holder of your car. It looks cute and makes the car smell good.

My favorite method is wax melts that have been chopped up. Add them to the polyfil that I use to stuff the sunflowers with. I have had others suggest herbs. Lavender was the most popular. How to make a Sunflower Sachet:
Supplies
A little bit of polyfil. Your favorite wax melt. I am using “Autumn Wreath” by Yankee Candle. You can use lavender, potpourri, or scented oils. A sweet lady suggested catnip for the kitties. I think that’s a great idea!
Yarn used:
(3) Lion Brand Mandala in the colorway “Groot”. I cut the colors and wound them into balls. The colors are perfect to make an array of sunflowers.
Crochet Hook:
E/4 3.50mm
Stitch Guide:
sc = single crochet
hdc = half double crochet
dc = double crochet
ch = chain
slp st = slip stitch
sp = space
nxt = next
beg. = beginning
st = stitch
skp = skip
repeat between * * = repeat the sequence that is between the * * as many times as stated
x = times, will follow number, example repeat sequence 8 x or 8 times
yo = yarn over
blo = back loop only
MC = Main Color – Brown or whichever color you choose for the sunflower center.
CC = Contrasting Color – yellow, gold or orange. Whichever color you choose for the petal color.
CC2 = Contrasting Color 2 – green or whicheve color you choose for the leaf color.
1st Center For The Sunflower Sachet:
Rounds 1:
Using MC; ch3 (or ch4) & join in ring; ch1, 7 sc in ring; join w/slp st to beg. sc (7 sc)
Round 2:
ch1; 2sc in blo joining st; *2sc in blo nxt st;* 6x; drop MC and pull up CC at the join w/slp st to beg. sc (14 sc)
Round 3:
ch1, sc in blo joining st; 2sc in nxt st; *sc in blo nxt st, 2sc in nxt st;* 6x; join w/slp st to beg. sc (21 sc)
Fasten off and weave in ends. Set aside. Make the second center.
Second Center For The Sunflower Sachet:
Repeat Rounds 1-3
Do not end off, you will be using the yarn that is attached to this center, to make sunflower petals. This will be the center that has the working yarn
Sunflower Petals Sunflower Sachet:
You will crochet both centers together, leaving a hole so that you can stuff the sunflower with the polyfil and wax melts. Place the centers wrong sides together. Use the working yarn to crochet the centers together, inserting the hook under the top two loops. Follow the pattern below to make the flower petals.
1. Start by placing the centers together, wrong sides facing each other.
2. Line up the edges of the centers, so that they line up, stitch for stitch. Use a few pins can help you, if needed.
3. Start by taking one slip st through both centers. Continue to make the flower petals, following the pattern below. Remember to leave an opening.
*ch6, slp st in 3rd ch from hook; ch3,; slp st in nxt “set of stitches” going through both centers; *repeat between * * 2/3 the way around the sunflower centers. Do not end off. There will be a little pocket in the sachet. Follow the steps in the photo tutorial below. Then proceed to finish crocheting the sunflower petals completely around the sachet. Closing up the hole, encasing the polyfil and wax melts.

Photo Tutorial: How To Add Scent To the Sunflower Sachet
The steps correlate with the numbers on the photos.
1. Supplies: small amount of polyfil, wax melt, scissors and a little bowl. Sunflower sachets that have an opening to insert the scented polyfil.
2. Note the opening that creates a little pocket in the sunflower.
3. Use the utility scissors to cut up the wax melt. Letting the chunks fall into a bowl.
4. Grab a small amount of polyfil.
5. Place chunks of wax melts into the polyfil and wrap the polyfil around the wax melt chunks.
6. Stuff the polyfil and wax melts into the sunflower pocket.
After the sunflower is stuffed. Continue to crochet the petals around the sunflower. Fasten off and weave in ends. Follow instruction on how to make the double leaves.
Double Leaf for the Sunflower Sachet (use greenish yarn)
ch8; sc in 2nd ch from hook & nxt ch, hdc in nxt ch, dc in nxt ch, hdc in nxt ch, sc in nxt ch; 2sc in last ch; (first leaf is made, do not end off) ch8 again, sc in 2nd ch from hook & nxt ch, hdc in nxt ch, dc in nxt ch, hdc in nxt ch, sc in nxt ch & last ch
1. Fasten off, tie both yarn tails together.
2. Using yarn tails, thread them into a yarn needle and sew the leaves to the back of a few flower petals in the position that makes you happy. Make sure to catch the flower petal with your needle a time or two.
You can use these little sunflower sachets in your car, throw them in your drawers, hang them with your clothing in a closet. I think they would be adorable tied to twine to make a garland. There are so many things you can do with this Sunflower Sachet!
