I am loving these Lemon Farmhouse Coasters. They are just the right size to place your glass, while enjoying a meal. The Lemon Farmhouse Placemat is the perfect compliment to this crocheted coaster. If you haven’t seen the Lemon Farmhouse Towel Topper with accompanying little lemons, you should take a look. You will find the free crochet pattern below if you keep scrolling. This crochet pattern was part of Launch 2 at the “Summer Celebration At Krissy’s”.
I sometimes use affiliate links in my posts. This won’t cost you anything, but will help offset the cost of yarn and other supplies needed, so that I can continue bringing you crochet patterns and craft ideas. Thank you so much for your support.
Yarn Used:
Red Heart Super Saver; MC= White; CC1 Yellow; CC2 = Navy. Cotton yarn is wonderful to use for this project. I was in creation mode when I made this set and used what was. Please feel free to use cotton yarn.
Mug Rug -MC = White – 40 yds; CC1 = Yellow – 20 yds; CC 2 = 5 yds
Notes on Yarn Used:
If using a lightweight cotton such as Hobby Lobby’s “I Love This Cotton” it will make a smaller product.

Hook
H-8/5.00 mm
Stitch Guide:
MC = Main Color = White
CC1 = Contrasting Color = Yellow
CC2 = Contrasting Color = Navy
sc = Single Crochet
join w/ = join with
slp st = Slip Stitch
skp = Skip
sp. = Space
nxt = Next
prev. = previous
st./st’s = stitch or stitches
beg. = beginning
* * = Complete sequence between the stars, the number of times stated;
x = Times; example Repeat 2 x or 2 times; 3 x or 3 times and so on;
in = example “in nxt st” means you will be inserting the hook under the top two loops of the next stitch to complete stitch or sequence of stitches stated
yo = Yarn Over
Special Stitch Guide:.
mb = Mini Bean Stitch = insert hook into the stitch indicated, draw up a loop, yo, insert hook into the same st, draw up a loop, yo, draw thru all 4 loops on hook, ch 1 to close the stitch.
The mb stitch is a unique cluster stitch. When the pattern is worked in rows each row of stitches has a right and left tilt. It is easy to use the ch 1 space to execute the cluster, but it will not give you the right, left tilt.
Round Coaster
Using H hook & holding one strand of MC, ch 3 and join in a ring
Row 1:
ch 1, hdc in ring, 10x; drop MC & pull up CC when joining w/ slp st to beg. hdc (10 hdc)
Row 2:
ch 2, 2 mb in joining st, mb in nxt st; *2 mb in nxt st; mb in nxt st* repeat from * to * around, join w/slp st to 2nd ch of beg. ch 2 (15 mb)
Row 3: (Please refer to “Special Stitches”)
ch 2 & turn; mb in each mb around, join w/ slp to 2nd ch of beg. ch 1 (15mb)
Row 4:
ch 1 & turn; *sc in nxt st (3x); 2 sc in nxt st;* repeat from * to * around; join w/slp to to beg. sc (40 sc)
Row 5:
ch 1; *sc in nxt st (4x); 2 sc in nxt st;* repeat from * to * around; join w/slp to to beg. sc; At the end of this round, drop MC and pull up CC2 at the slp st. (50 sc)
Row 6:
slp st in each st around, in a loose fashion. When you have executed the last slp st in the last st, slip your hook under the first slp st made, and make a slp st, cut the yarn and pull the thread tail through to the front of the coaster. Using a yarn needle, thread the yarn tail to the back, going through the “V” of that slp st, you just went under. This makes a clean color transition. This sequence of stitches should not be tight as it will pull the coaster out of shape and make it curl. End off, thread yarn tail into yarn needle and stitch it across the front, to cover the color gap, as pictured below. (50 st’s)
Finished Measurements : 4.5″ across
