Round Puzzle Poncho Free Crochet Pattern

Yarn Used:

Premiere Puzzle Yarn or it’s equivalent. One ball for xsmall thru x large. 2 Balls for plus sizes. May need a 3rd ball for 5x

  • 100% Acrylic
  • 200g/7oz – 300m/328yds
  • #5 bulky weight

Hook Size:

J/10-6mm (all sizes except for 5x)
 
K/10.5-6.5mm (use this hook for 5x)

Special Stitches:

Shell – 5 dc in stitch indicated in pattern

Shell w/ears – skp sc; dc in nxt dc (2x) ch3, sc in nxt dc; ch3, dc in nxt dc (2x); skp sc,

ch1 Fan = *dc, ch1;* 4x, dc one more time, in the stitch indicated in the pattern

beg. ch1 Fan = ch4, *dc, ch1* 3x, dc one more time, in the stitch indicated in the pattern

ch2 Fan = *dc, ch2;* 4x, dc one more time, in the stitch indicated in the pattern

beg. ch2 Fan = ch5, *dc, ch2* 3x, dc one more time, in the stitch indicated in the pattern

trb “V”- trb, CH 2, trb in stitch or space indicated in pattern

beg. trb V = ch6, trb in stitch of space indicated in pattern

Stitch Key:

x sm/med

sc = single crochet

dc = Double Crochet

trb = Treble Crochet

fp hdc = Front Post Half Double Crochet

bp hdc = Back Post Half Double Crochet

ch = chain

slp sr = slip stitch

in sp. = execute st. by going under the CH that is creating the sp. Do not execute st. directly into a ch

sp = space

nxt = next

beg. = beginning

st = stitch

repeat between * * = execute the sequence that is between the * * as many times as stated

x = times, will follow number, example repeat sequence 8 x or 8 times

Loosely Ch  72 join in ring, being very careful not to twist. ( 9 chains)

NOTE: When this arch sequence is finished, you will need a multiple of 3 arches. Please randomly increase by 1 arch for xs/m

Neckline Of The Round Puzzle Poncho

Round 1:

attach yarn with a sc at the neckline, with the right side facing you. Proceed to sc around the entire neckline, approx. 72, st’s, join w/slp st to beg. sc

Round 2-4:

ch2, (counts as hdc) *fp hdc in nxt st, bp hdc in nxt st* repeat around neckline, join w/slp st in 2nd ch of beg ch2; end off at the end of round 4, weave in all ends. 

Block your poncho if you choose. I like to do the steam iron method.
