Free Crochet Pattern For A Vintage Baby Cocoon

I’m so excited to share this free crochet pattern for a Vintage Baby Cocoon with you. This snuggly and stylish design is perfect for wrapping up your little one in warmth and love, especially for those first precious photo moments or bringing baby home from the hospital.

This cocoon isn’t just cozy, it’s full of vintage charm.

It is complete with shabby rose trim, elastic lace on the white cocoon. The cream colored cocoon has a removable burlap bow clip, with lace and ribbon trims and a sweet clip with a piece of vintage jewelry in the center of the flower.

The ad free pdf includes a photo tutorial on how to embellish this cocoon that will help create that vintage vibe. Purchase the pattern at RAVELRY.

Why You’ll Love This Pattern

Special Features of This Pattern

  1. Shabby Rose Trim: This delightful trim adds a touch of elegance and vintage charm. It’s easy to find at craft stores, and easy to apply.
  2. The Burlap bow with a flower is actually a clip! You can remove it for washing or swap it out for other decorative clips to match different themes or outfits.
  3. Photo-Friendly Design: This cocoon is not only practical but also ideal for newborn photography. The unique details and cozy look make it a perfect prop. I love to crochet infant items. I have several crochet patterns for baby here on this blog. The Over Brook Baby set was the latest design and it has a vintage feel. It includes a little dress with a lace collar, a baby hat with the same lace trim and a pair of bloomers.

The pattern itself is easy to follow, with clear instructions and helpful measurements provided throughout. You’ll also find tutorials within the pattern, for attaching the trim and making the vintage bow clip. Even if you’re new to crocheting or hand-sewing, you’ll find these steps simple and enjoyable.

Holding two strands of any worsted weight yarn, will make this cocoon to perfection! I  used Hobby Lobby’s “I Love This Yarn” in the cocoon’s pictured/approx. 1200 yds
