Free Toddler Size Crochet Pattern (2T–5T)
Below you’ll find the free crochet pattern for the 2T–5T Pumpkin Blossom Hat. This size is perfect for toddlers and young children, making it a great option for cozy fall days, pumpkin patch outings, or even as a sweet handmade Halloween accessory.
Red Heart or TLC has been used as well as Caron Simply Soft, or any other 4-ply yarn would be suitable for this hat.

F/5/3.75mm = blossom flower
Gauge = 4”w=10dc; 3”h=5 rows

Row 5-9: slp st in nxt ch; ch4; dc ch1in nxt ch1 st around (26dc)
Row 10;Arch row: ch1, sc in 4th ch of last round; ch4, sc in 2nd ch1 sp; complete around, slp st in first sc made. (10 arches: preemie 8 arches)

Row 11:Popcorn row: slp st in 1st and 2nd ch of first arch, ch3, 3dc in arch, 2dc around the posts of all three dc, first popcorn made, *popcorn stitch in each arch around* join with
slp st in 3rd ch of beg ch3. (10 popcorns; preemie 8 popcorns)
Row 12:Arch Row: slp st to middle of popcorn, ch1, sc, ch4, *sc in top of popcorn, ch4* repeat between asterisks around, join by slp st in beg sc. (10 arches: preemie 8 arches) Tutorial is at the bottom of the pattern
Row 13: Popcorn row: Repeat previous popcorn row, If adding the optional picot row, and you would like to add the green for the picot row, proceed as follows– before joining with slp st, drop MC to back and pull up green, this optional, it is a striking effect. However it is pictured with orange picot row.
Row 14:Optional picot row: slp st in nxt st 4x; picot; *slp st in nxt st 3x; picot* 9x(7x for preemie) slp st in last st, slp st in beginning slp st, trying to make the color change look unnoticeable, fasten
Tie: with lime green ch97, end off and weave in ends. Weave tie in the first row of popcorns and tie into a bow. It is important for the safety of the baby or child, that you secure the tie with needle and thread to the back of the popcorns, at even intervals.
Blossom flower: use F hook, using yellow yarn, ch5, join in ring.
Row 1: ch1, 5sc in ring, join in first sc by slp st while dropping the yellow yarn, and pulling up the white.
Row 2: ch1 sc hdc sc slp st in first sc; (In nxt sc, slp st ch1 hdc sc slp st;) continue around, joining to first petal with slp st. pull yarn to back, weave in ends, and securely sew over the bow made from the tie.
STEM
Rnd. 1: ( ALL STITCHES IN ROUND 1, WILL BE UNDER THE POST OF A DC IN ROUND 1, AT THE TOP OF THE HAT)
Rnd 1; Attach yarn around the post of first dc, of rnd. 1.
Draw up a loop, and chain 2, (this counts as first hdc) * (under next dc, yo, pull up a loop, under next dc, yo, pull up a loop) there will be 5 loops on hook, (refer to pic) Yarn over, pull through all loops on hook. (This is 2 hdc combined, or a hdc decrease) repeat 4, or as many times as it takes to get back to beginning, join to top of ch2.
Rnd. 2:ch1, *skip nxt hdc, sc in nxt hdc* repeat between * * around, and join in top of ch1
Rnd. 3: ch1 *skip 1 st, slp st* repeat between **around, closing up the hole. End off. Pull tail tight, and thread down the center of the stem, then weave in.
