Heart Stitch Coffee Cozy Free Crochet Pattern

If you love practical crochet projects with a sweet touch, this Heart Stitch Coffee Cozy is about to be your new favorite make. This cozy little cup sleeve features the same beautiful Heart Stitch used in my coordinating tumbler wrap cover, creating a matching set that’s both functional and heartfelt. The free crochet pattern is below (ad supported) or you can purchase the ad free pdf at RAVELRY or ETSY.
A heart stitch coffee cozy has been placed on a Starbucks style of coffee mug.

Whether you’re gifting, selling at markets, or just keeping your own hands cool and comfy, this crochet coffee cozy pattern is quick, beginner-friendly with a little stitch adventure, and absolutely charming.

Why You’ll Love This Heart Stitch Coffee Cozy

This isn’t just another cup sleeve. It matches the Heart Stitch Tumbler Wrap, which makes it extra special.

This cozy works up quickly, making it perfect for craft fairs, stocking stuffers, teacher gifts.

What Is the Heart Stitch in Crochet?

The Heart Stitch creates small heart-shaped motifs directly in the fabric as you work — no appliqués added later. That means:

  • The hearts are built right into the texture

  • The fabric has beautiful depth

  • It looks impressive but becomes rhythmic once you learn it

If you already made the tumbler wrap, you’ll feel right at home with this stitch pattern.

Designer Notes:
1. This is written in American standard terms.
2. It is made from the bottom up.
3. A crocheted cozy has a lot of stretch to them. If you would like your cozy to be looser than what I have in  my instructions, then add to the base chain in multiples of two. You will need to have an even number of  stitches.
4.This cozy is worked in the round with joins, there are no turns.
5.
All beginning chains do not count as a stitch

Hi, I bought your pattern for the Tutu dress. My question is How can I make it for a 1yr old? And what size will the Lumberjack slipper socks fit, and are the shamrocks a good size to make earrings from? Thank you for your response.

  1. 10 Crochet Cup Sleeve Ideas - Yarns Whimsy says:

[…] A heart stitch cup sleeve is such a sweet idea when you want something practical with a little extra personality. The heart texture gives the sleeve a softer, more decorative look, but it still feels modern because the design is built into the stitch pattern rather than added on as a big applique. That keeps the finished sleeve feeling neat and wearable. It is lovely for teacher gifts, Valentine makes, coffee date gifts, or just a pretty everyday sleeve in colours you love. In broad construction terms, this style uses textured stitches that create a repeated heart motif across the fabric, which makes it more interesting to crochet while still staying very usable. It looks especially good in blush, red, cream, rosewood, or even a simple monochrome palette. This is such a good option if you want a cup sleeve that feels a bit more special without being difficult to style. Tutorial. […]
