Lemon Farmhouse Scrubby Crochet Pattern

Supplies:

Yarn: Red Heart Scrubby Sparkle, approx. 50-60 yards yellow, 10-15 yards of green. Notions: scissors and yarn needle for sewing leaves in place. 

Hook:

H-8/5.00 mm

Stitch Guide:

MC = Main Color = yello

CC = Contrasting Color = Green

ch = Chain

sc = Single Crochet

join w/ = join with

slp st = Slip Stitch

Decrease/dec = sc two st’s together

skp = Skip

sp = Space

nxt = Next

prev. = previous

st./st’s = stitch or stitches

beg. = beginning

* * = Complete sequence between the stars, the number of times stated;

x = Times; example Repeat 2 x or 2 times; 3 x or 3 times and so on;

in = example “in nxt st” means you will be inserting the hook under the top two loops of the next stitch to complete stitch or sequence of stitches stated

Round 1:

ch 3 join in a ring, ch 1, *sc in ring* 6x; join w/slp st to beg. sc

Round 2:

ch 1, sc in joining st, 2 sc in nxt st; *sc in nxt st, 2 sc in nxt st* 2x; join w/slp st to beg. sc (9 sc)

Round 3:

ch 1, sc in joining st, 2 sc in nxt st; *sc in nxt st, 2 sc in nxt st* 3x, sc in last st; join w/slp st to beg. sc (13 sc)

Round 4:

ch 1, sc in joining st, sc in nxt st;, 2 sc in nxt st; *sc in nxt st 2 st’s;  2 sc in nxt st* 3x, sc in last st; join w/slp st to beg. sc (17 sc)

Round 5:

ch 1, sc in joining st, sc in nxt 2 st’s;, 2 sc in nxt st; *sc in nxt st 3 st’s;  2 sc in nxt st* 3x, sc in last st; join w/slp st to beg. sc (21 sc)

Round 6:

ch 1, sc in joining st, sc in nxt 3 st’s;, 2 sc in nxt st; *sc in nxt st 4 st’s;  2 sc in nxt st* 3x, sc in last st; join w/slp st to beg. sc (25 sc)

Round 7:

ch 1, sc in joining st, sc in nxt 4 st’s;, 2 sc in nxt st; *sc in nxt st 5 st’s;  2 sc in nxt st* 3x, sc in last st; join w/slp st to beg. sc (29 sc)

Round 8:

ch 1, sc in joining st, sc in nxt 4 st’s;, 2 sc in nxt st; *sc in nxt st 6 st’s;  2 sc in nxt st* 3x, sc in last st; join w/slp st to beg. sc (33 sc)

Round 9:

ch 1, sc in joining st & place marker in this sc; sc in nxt st and in each st around, do not join (33 sc)

Round 10-15:

sc in marked st & move marker into this stitch; sc in nxt st and in each st around, stopping at marked st, do not join (33 sc)

Round 16:

NOTE: You will execute this next sequence of st’s over 32 st’s, in this round.
remove marker; *dec, (place marker at this 1st decrease) sc in nxt 6 st’s* 4x;   (28 st’s)

Round 17:

NOTE: You will execute this next sequence of st’s over 28 st’s, in this round.
remove marker; *dec, (place marker at this 1st decrease) sc in nxt 5 st’s* 4x;   (24 st’s)

Round 18:

NOTE: You will execute this next sequence of st’s over 24 st’s, in this round.
remove marker; *dec, (place marker at this 1st decrease) sc in nxt 4 st’s* 4x;    (20 st’s)

Round 19:

NOTE: You will execute this next sequence of st’s over 20st’s, in this round.
remove marker; *dec, (place marker at this 1st decrease) sc in nxt 3 st’s* 4x;  (16 st’s)

Round 20:

NOTE: You will execute this next sequence of st’s over 16st’s, in this round.

Your hole should be very small. Execute a slip st to the opposite side and end off. 

Flatten the lemon, it will have a little bit of a curl that helps it fit into your hand while you scrub the grime away!

Crochet Leaves For The Lemon Pot Scrubby

Smaller Leaf Crochet Pattern:

ch 5, sc in 2nd ch from hook, dc in nxt 2 ch’s, sc 2x in last ch, picot, sc in last ch 1 more time; you will be working on the back of the ch, dc in nxt 2 ch’s, sc in last ch, slp st in first sc made, end off, use the yarn tail to sew on to the lemon at the stem area. The tip of the leaf should point to 1:00 oclock.

 

Larger Leaf Crochet Pattern:

ch 7, sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in nxt ch, dc in nxt 2 ch’s, hdc in nxt ch, sc 2x in last ch, picot;
sc in last ch 1 more time; 

you will be working on the back of the ch, hdc in nxt ch, dc in nxt 2 ch’s,, hdc in nxt ch, sc in last ch, slp st in first sc made, end off, use the yarn tail to sew on to the lemon at the stem area, with the bottom of the leaf placed over the bottom of the smaller leaf. The tip of the leaf should point to 10:00 oclock.
