Crochet Watermelon Basket With Handles | Free Pattern

Nothing says summer quite like watermelon! If you love adding cheerful handmade touches to your home, you’re going to love this Free Crochet Pattern for a Watermelon Basket With Handles.  The free crochet pattern is down below and if you want an ad free pdf you can pick that up at RAVELRY or ETSY.
A watermelon Basket that has a little red and white gingham check bow at the handle. Off to the right side are the watermelon scrubbies and dishcloths

This basket has cute little handles and is so quick to crochet.

Whether you’re crocheting it for yourself or to give as a gift, it will be a welcome addition to any corner or table. It is fast to crochet as it holds 2 strands of worsted weight yarn.

Use Black Buttons To Embellish The Basket To Make Watermelon Seeds

You could also use black yarn for the seeds. Randomly embroider them into the sides if you don’t want to sew on black buttons. If you don’t want to sew them on you can glue those buttons on to the basket. I’ll demonstrate both applications at a later date.

Don’t You Love A Basket With Handles?

The handles are cute and make it easy to carry wherever you need it. I’ll also be sharing a video tutorial soon showing you how to add a stiff, fabric-covered liner to really take your Watermelon Basket to the next level!

I Do Enjoy Crocheting Baskets and Adding A Stiff Fabric Covered Liner

It is very easy to add a stiff liner to a crochet basket. While you are waiting for me to produce the video tutorial, watch this video below and it will show you how to add a stiff liner to any basket.

I have several useful baskets that I have designed over the years.

A couple of them have a fruit theme in mind. Like the Pineapple Basket and the Lemon Farmhouse Basket.

Toilet Paper Baskets are so much fun.

The Victorian Toilet Paper Basket was the first one that I designed. It was a memorable launch. A second memorable toilet paper basket was in 2020 when there was a toilet paper shortage.

This Santa Themed Toilet Paper Basket is a hoot and created quite a stir. The design clearly shows it is Santa inspired, and I added a tag that said, “Just For You…xoxo, Santa”. Many folks gave these as gag gifts at Christmas parties.

Pair The Watermelon Basket with My Other Watermelon Crochet Patterns
