3 Crochet Hearts: Free Patterns

Let me show you how to make 3 different crochet hearts with worsted weight (4) yarn. It is pretty simple. Find the free crochet patterns for the Tiny Heart, Small Heart, and Little Heart below.

3 crochet hearts, teeny, tiny & Small, free crochet pattern here on this blog post.

The Small Hearts are the perfect applique for the Diamond Basket made in Valentine colors.

You can make a garland that has all three different sized hearts on it or put a Tiny heart in a valentine’s card or put one in your little’s lunchbox, or use the Small Heart to make a keychain.

There are so many things you can do with these crochet hearts.

Here’s a list of ideas for crafting with three small crochet hearts, including your suggestions and additional ones:

  • Appliqués: Attach them to clothing, bags, hats, scarves, or blankets.
  • Valentine’s Card Decor: Glue or stitch them onto cards for a handmade touch, or just throw the teeny heart into the envelope.
  • Table Decor: Sprinkle all three sizes on a table as festive confetti.
  • Towel Topper Embellishment: Sew one onto the tab of a crochet towel topper for extra charm. Here is a Simple Towel Topper Crochet Pattern that will work perfectly for this project.
  • Keychain or Bag Charm: Sew two together, stuff lightly, and attach to a keyring or bag clip. It is so easy to stuff a bit of poly fil down inside before sewing the last few stitches, just as I did for these cute Scented Sunflowers.
  • Pocket Pal: Give a stuffed heart to a child as a small “pocket hug.”
  • Magnets: Add a magnet to the back for a cute refrigerator decoration.
  • Ornaments: Hang them as mini ornaments for Valentine’s Day or any special occasion.
  • Brooch or Pin: Attach a pin backing to create a brooch or lapel pin. To create a vintage look, put a small amount of ruffled lace on behind the heart…maybe embellish with a mini bow as I did when designing a Preemie Puppy Dog Hat.

  • Hair Accessories: Glue or sew them onto hair clips, headbands, or barrettes.
  • Gift Wrap Accent: Tie or glue them onto gift boxes or bags as a decorative detail.
  • Wreath Decorations: Add them to a Valentine’s-themed wreath.
  • Mini Garland: String them together to make a delicate garland for a shelf or mantle.
  • Cup Cozy Accent: Sew or glue them onto crochet or knitted cup cozies.
  • Bookmark: Attach a heart to a string or ribbon for a sweet bookmark.
  • Napkin Rings: Add them to napkin rings for a festive table setting.
  • Photo Frame Decor: Use them to decorate a plain photo frame.
  • Sachets: Stuff two together for a tiny pillow, add a bit of stuffing with a little bit of scented candle wax, to make a fun sachet to throw in your drawer, as I did with these Mini Scented Pumpkins.
  • Planner or Journal Charm: Add a loop and tie it to a planner or journal as a charm.
  • DIY Earrings: Attach hooks to the teeny and tiny hearts for mismatched or matching earrings.
  • Bunting Flags: Decorate small crochet flags with hearts for bunting.
  • Cupcake Toppers: Attach to toothpicks or small skewers for reusable cupcake toppers.
  • Luggage Tags: Sew one onto fabric to make a personalized tag.
  • Valentine’s Favor Bags: Sew one onto small drawstring bags for gifting candy or small items.

You can use these heart as an applique on anything.

A jean jacket, make up case, add a boutique vibe to a childs outfit. I have done this, and used a sewing machine to stitch it down. It’s really easy. The photo below shows how

I have appliqued a heart to the tab of the Simple Towel Topper, but I have also created a Floating Heart Stitch.

The floating heart stitch has been used in many of my designs. There is a coffee cozy, a lovely Cloche, a cute beanie a messy bun hat, and finally a towel topper. The floating hearts stitch is an intermediate to advanced crochet stitch, so these small crocheted hearts are a great option for you to try.
