Fall is in the air and it’s time for all of those fun Fall activities. This lovely mesh poncho would be the perfect item to wear while going on a pumpkin or apple picking venture. Wouldn’t this be beautiful in a fire engine red? You can make this poncho for yourself using easy to find worsted weight yarn. More details are below. You can purchase the “ad free” pdf on ETSY and RAVELRY.
I consider this to be a beginner friendly crochet pattern.
To make this Fall Poncho you need to use a 4 worsted weight yarn. Follow the free crochet pattern -> lighter weight poncho and do not use ch4 spaces, but use CH 3 spaces instead of CH 4 spaces. This is a fast to crochet poncho, but I honestly had to walk away a time or two. Making that many chain 3’s can be monotonous.
One way to wear this poncho is with the peaks at your shoulders, cascading down your arms.
You can also turn the peaks, so that they are cascading down the front. I think this helps to expand the styling of your outfit while on your fall adventures. Since a 4 weight yarn is used it has enough warmth for a fall day.
If you are familiar with the multi stitch Over Brook Poncho then you may be familiar with this neckline.
The lace stitches are a combination of ordinary and unique shells, coupled with a variety of chain spaces. I call that whole sequence the “Over Brook Stitches”.
The lace edge at the bottom matches the stitches at the neckline.
Yes they are the Over Brook Stitches. You will find this same edge on the Over Brook Poncho. If you would like an “ad free” pdf of this poncho, you can find it on ETSY and RAVELRY.

How to Crochet Instructions For The Fall Mesh Poncho
Use a worsted weight yarn follow the Over Brook Mesh Poncho Crochet Pattern. Execute ch 3’s instead of ch 4’s during the mesh portion of the poncho. It’s that easy. Switch to a worsted weight yarn and execute a ch3 instead of a ch4. You can create a shortened version and add fringe if you would like. Remember, you are the artist, crochet patterns are the canvas, yarn is the paint, crochet hooks are the brush. Let your creativity soar!
