Pumpkin Stitch Coffee Cozy Crochet Pattern
This crochet coffee cozy is a simple slip-on design made to fit a reusable cup approximately 10 inches around and 5 ¼ inches tall.
The textured pumpkin row adds a fun fall detail while keeping the project quick and enjoyable to crochet.
It is a great fall crochet pattern for your own coffee cup, handmade gifts, or fall craft fairs.
A Quick Fall Crochet Project
The Pumpkin Stitch Coffee Cozy is a small project that works up quickly.
It is also a scrap yarn crochet project, since you only need small amounts of three colors.
This project will help fill up your craft booth. Just pull out leftover worsted weight yarn in your stash and crochet away.

Free Pumpkin Stitch Coffee Cozy Crochet Pattern
Yarn: I used scraps of Worsted Weight yarn in three different colors. A main color, a pumpkin color and a green leaf color. You may use any worsted weight yarn in your colorway of choice. You could also use red (cherries or strawberries) or yellow (lemons) Acceptable yarns would be cotton or wool.
Hook: H/8/5mm
Gauge: 4” x 4”= 8 rows DC x 14 DC stitches. Hearts are 1.5” x 1.5”

It is 10” round at the top x 5 ¼” in height
Special Stitch
PC – Pumpkin Cluster = *yo, insert hook into stitch indicated, pull up a loop, pull thru 2 loops* 3x; yo, pull thru all 4 loops on the hook, ch1 to close the st. push the cluster to the front of your work.

fp hdc = Front Post Half Double Crochet
bp hdc = Back Post Half Double Crochet
yo = yarn over
nxt = Next
* * = Repeat between the stars the number of times stated; x = Times; example Repeat 2 x or 2 times; 3 x or 3 times and so on;
in = example “in nxt st” means you will be inserting the hook under the top two loops of the next stitch to complete the stitch or sequence of stitches stated.
Designer Notes:
1. This is written in American standard terms.
2. It is made from the top down
- A crocheted cozy has a lot of stretch to them. If you would like your cozy to be looser than what I have in my instructions, then add to the base chain in multiples of two. You will need to have an even number of stitches.
4. If you would like a tighter or smaller cozy, then take away from the base chain in multiples of two
5. This cozy is worked in the round, there are no turns.
6. All beginning chains do not count as a stitch
7. All ch1’s that are made in Round 10 do not count as a stitch and will be skipped in round 11.
Crochet Pattern: Pumpkin Stitch Coffee Cozy
Using MC, CH 24 and join in a ring, being careful not to twist.
Round 1: CH 2; HDC in joining st, and in each CH around; join w/SLP ST to beg. HDC (24 HDC)
Round 2: ch2, bp hdc in joining st; fp hdc in nxt st; *bp hdc in nxt st; fp hdc in nxt st* 12x join w/slp st in beg. bp hdc (12 fp hdc; 12 bp hdc; 24 stitches)
Round 3: Repeat Round 2
Round 4: ch1; sc in joining st and in each st around; join w/slp st to beg. sc; (24 sc)
Round 5-8: Repeat Round 4; drop MC at the end of Round 8 and pull up CC1 at the last pull through of Round 8; (24 sc)
Round 9: ch1, sc in joining st, PC in nxt st; *sc in nxt st, PC in nxt st;* 11x; join w/slp st to beg. sc, dropping and ending off CC1 and pulling up CC2 at the slp st when joining;
(12 PC & 12 sc)
Round 10: ch1, sc, ch1, sc in joining st; *skp PC; (sc, ch1, sc in nxt sc st)*11x; skp last PC, sc in nxt, ch1, join w/slp st to beg. sc, dropping and ending off, CC2 and pulling up MC at the slp st when joining.
Round 11: ch1, sc in each sc around, skipping all ch1’s; join w/slp st to beg. sc
Round 12 & 13: ch1, sc in each st around; join w/slp st to beg. sc
This next round is optional, it’s a finishing round. If you want a clean finish without the ripple, please feel free to end off at the end of Round 13, and weave in all ends.
Round 14: ch1, slp st in joining st; *ch1, slp st in nxt st;* repeat between * * all the way around; join w/slp st at the beg. join, end off and weave in all ends.
