Pumpkin Cluster Coaster | Free Crochet Pattern

A cotton pumpkin cluster coaster free crochet pattern is perfect for this Fall and Thanksgiving season. They go so well with the Farmhouse Pumpkin Cluster Towel Topper. Change the base color to a cream, tweed or pale yellow, to customize it to compliment the Fall decor that is in your home.The free crochet pattern is below, but you can purchase the ad free pdf at RAVELRY and ETSY for less than a cup of coffee.

Pumpkin Cluster Coasters

 

This pumpkin cluster stitch is so much fun to crochet.

Add it as a border to so many different items. They are so much fun to have in your home. The coasters are great to give is a gift. The “How To Video” for the pumpkin cluster stitch is short and sweet. It will help while you are crocheting the coaster or towel topper.

15″ around & 4.5″ across

Supplies

Hook:

H 8/5.00mm

Notions:

Yarn Needle and Scissors

Yarn Used:

Any dishcloth type of yarn. I used Peaches and Cream Cotton Yarn. MC= White; CC1 = Green; CC2 = Orange or Gold. I highly recommend using cotton yarn. 

MC = White – 35 yds; CC1 = Green – 15 yds; CC2 = Orange or Gold – 25 yds

Stitch Key

sc = single crochet

slp st = slip stitch

dec=  decrease = sc 2 st’s together

nxt = next

beg. = beginning

* * = Complete sequence between the stars, the number of times stated;

Special Stitch Guide:

PC – Pumpkin Cluster = *yo, insert hook into stitch indicated, pull up a loop, pull thru 2 loops* 3x; yo, pull thru all 4 loops on the hook, ch1 to close the st. push the cluster forward when making the next stitch.

Pumpkin Cluster Coaster

ch3 join in a ring or magic circle

Round 1:

ch1, 7 sc in ring, join w/slp st to 1st sc made ( 7 sc)

Round 2: 

ch1, 2sc in joining st and each st around; join w/slp st to 1st sc made (14 sc)

Round 3:

ch 1 sc in joining st; 2 sc in nxt st; *sc in nxt st; 2 sc  in nxt st;* repeat between * * 6x; join w/slp st to 1st sc made (21 st’s)

 

Round 4:

ch 1 sc in joining st, sc in nxt st; 2 sc in nxt st; *sc in nxt 2 st’s; 2 sc  in nxt st;* repeat between * * 6x; join w/slp st to 1st sc made (28 st’s)

Round 5:

ch 1 sc in joining st, sc in nxt 2 st’s; 2 sc in nxt st; *sc in nxt 3 st’s; 2 sc  in nxt st;* repeat between * * 6x; Drop MC (white), end off, and pull up CC1(green) at the join w/slp st to 1st sc made (35 st’s)

Round 6:

ch 1 sc in joining st, sc in nxt 3 st’s; 2 sc in nxt st; *sc in nxt 4 st’s; 2 sc  in nxt st;* repeat between * * 6x; Drop CC1(green), end off, and pull up CC2 (yellow or orange) at the join w/slp st to 1st sc made (42 st’s)

Round 7:

PC – Pumpkin Cluster = *yo, insert hook into stitch indicated, pull up a loop, pull thru 2 loops* 3x; yo, pull thru all 4 loops on the hook, ch1 to close the st. push the cluster forward when making the next stitch.

ch 1 sc in joining st, *PC in nxt st, sc in nxt st* 20x; PC in last st, join w/slp st to beg. sc; end off and weave in all ends.
