My in depth review below, will tell you what happened when I crocheted with Bernat Big Ball Baby Sport Ombre.
- Knots…were there knots? There was one knot in two of the three balls that I worked with. One ball didn’t have any knots. The knots didn’t create any problems.
- The color variegation was very nice. There is an all girl color scheme, an all boy, and a unisex color scheme, readily available at my local Wal Mart & Joanns Fabric and Craft Store.
- I did NOT encounter a thick or thin spot when using this yarn. That gave me all of the happy feels.
- The yarn is a bit on the scratchy side before it is washed..
- I washed and dried two swatches of this yarn. (I washed it really hard) Fabric softener was used and when it came out of the dryer, it was much softer than it was previously.
- After washing and drying, the yarn has a soft loft and is so squishable. I think babies will love snuggling with items made using this yarn.
- The yarn didn’t show any signs of pilling.
- I drew an outline of one of the swatches before washing and drying. There did seem to be a small amount of shrinkage. If you are making a fitted garment, you will need to provide a bit of ease into the construction.
Will I recommend Bernat Baby Sport Ombre Yarn? YES! I am giving this yarn 4.5 stars on a 5 star rating.
- The only thing that kept me from giving the yarn a complete 5 stars was the scratchy feel at the time of purchase.
- I am more than happy to recommend this yarn to those that are crocheting or knitting items for a baby.
- The yarn is easily found at Wal Mart and JoAnns Fabric and Crafts in the US
- It can easily be purchased online as well

- Lion Brand Ice Cream is considered a 99% match and it’s a comparable price
- Lion Brand Mandala is considered a 99% match. You may want to cut the yarn if you don’t like sudden color stops.

I love Bernet Blanket but I just purchased 24 skeins and i can’t believe the knots. Really not knots but it looks like it cut yarn tied on.
I buy at Joann’s and I am really thinking of call CS to see if the are buying at a discount.
They do have great sales but i hate joking yarn on a nice piece of art I have been crocheting since i was 6 and now 73. Wherever I go something goes with me!
Love your pieces shown💖

Thank you for your review…You have brought up a valid question. Something I have podered a time or two when it comes to other products.
I will add that into the blog post, so that others may want to contemplate purchasing during a big sale. If you do contact them, please let me know what their reply is. I am a little busy right now, so I will wait until I hear from you to make that addition.
I love that you aren’t ashamed of your age. I think noting our age is validation that we have and still are living a good life, and we have a lot to offer. I am 63 years old, and like you…yarn goes with me everywhere I go. It can fill spaces of time that could be unproductive.
I look forward to hearing from you Gail,
God Bless,
Kris
