How To Crochet A Snowman Basket: Free Crochet Pattern

Let me show you how to crochet a snowman basket. It’s a free crochet pattern. The stove pipe hat can hold cotton balls or Cotton swabs if using this basket in the bath. It’s great in the kitchen as well. Sugar packets would be so cute in the mini basket (top hat) that is on the lid.

The free crochet pattern is below or you can purchase the ad free pdf at RAVELRY or ETSY.

The embellished Snowman toilet paper basket. Lots of snowflakes on the lid.

I sometimes use affiliate links in my posts. This won’t cost you anything, but will help offset the cost of yarn and other supplies needed, so that I can continue bringing you crochet patterns and craft ideas. Thank you so much for your support.

The little stove top hat on this crochet basket is so fun.

It is just the right size to hold little things. Add a piece of craft foam to the bottom of the lid. This will make the lid sturdy enough to remove when needed. Grab the stove top hat when you need access to what is inside the snowman basket.

This is the perfect size to add a couple of double size toilet paper rolls.

I love making themed toilet paper baskets, but you can use this for more than a toilet paper baskets. Use it in the kitchen close to your coffee bar. The main part can hold coffee pods and the hat can hold sugar packets! How fun is that?

My all time favorite is the Santa & Elf Crochet Baskets. They were designed in 2020 during the pandemic, when there was a toilet paper shortage.

Elegant crochet basket patterns have been in my crochet shops for a few years now.

The favorite in this category is the Victorian Lace Crochet Basket. There are so many crochet basket patterns here on my blog.

Another Elegant way to use a crochet for storage is using your favorite crochet stitches to cover a collapsible cube.

Crochet a square bottom, then use the High Back Post Half Double Crochet stitch, then proceed to use an easy Shell Stitch, Sun Spray Lace Stitch, Over Brook Lace,

G-5/4.0mm hook and one strand only of Orange yarn,

CH 6; sc in 2nd ch from hook, HDC in nxt, DC in last 3; end off weave in ends.

It’s time to embellish!

Glue the stovepipe to the brim of the hat, glue the buttons and the carrot nose to the front. Put the toilet paper in the basket and use scotch tape to hold the buttons in place. Add optional ribbon bow to the bottom front. Scatter snowflake buttons on the hat in a way that is pleasing to you and then glue everything in place.

Additional Ideas To Make An Outstanding Snowman Basket

I think a frayed piece of flannel tied around the stove pipe would be cute. A super sparkly snowflake brooch or button would be cute on the stove pipe. A Frosty the Snowman type of flower would be cute as well.

You can also add a piece of black craft foam to the bottom of the lid, to give it more stability.

Here is another basket crochet pattern that you can make for your home, or use to stuff with goodies to gift to that special friend.

You could place a fun snowman towel with a unique crochet towel topper sewn on to it. You could also throw in a few crocheted dishcloths and a few mug rugs crocheted in Christmas colors or better yet…Snowman colors!
