If you have been searching for a crochet hat for cancer patients or a structured crochet hat with both beauty and purpose, this pattern was created for you.
The video tutorial for Part 1 will be coming soon, along with Parts 2 and 3, as well as a separate tutorial on how to embellish the finished hat.

Why a Structured Crochet Cloche Hat Matters
Most crochet hats are soft and flexible, which can be lovely, but sometimes you want a hat that maintains its shape throughout the day.

A structured crochet cloche hat offers several benefits:
- It’s not a total hair crusher like a beanie is.
- Complements vintage inspired and modern outfits
- Can be worn over a chemo cap for added comfort
- Helps protect sensitive skin from embellishments
When worn over a close fitting chemo cap, this style allows you to enjoy decorative crochet hats without irritation.

Designed With Comfort and Grace in Mind
During my own breast cancer journey, I wasn’t sure about what type of chemo hats I would want to wear.
I knew I wanted to wear beautiful hats. I didn’t want others to look at me with pity.
I have learned that layering can help when the scalp is senstive.
Placing a close fitting chemo cap underneath protects the scalp. Then a structured hat can be placed over the top when you are wanting to feel beautiful or you have an occasion to wear one.

A Personal Testimonial
For many years, I have crocheted and sold this style of structured cloche hat at craft shows and to my friends.
It was not until I faced my own battle with breast cancer and I became aware of the needs of chemo and radiation patients.
I didn’t lose my hair but through education and observation of those who have, I realized that this style of hat was beneficial to cancer patients.
This style of hat is not only about appearance. It is about comfort, confidence, and feeling like yourself again during a difficult season.

Signature Cloche Styles
