Waiting For The Train 1920’s Cloche Crochet Pattern

You will love the Waiting For The Train 1920’s Cloche Crochet Pattern. It is easy to crochet and uses Debra Norville’ Serenity yarn. It’s a bulky weight and will hold embellishments like silk flowers, lace, feathers and vintage jewelry.

This post may contain affiliate links that when clicked on will not cost you a thing, but may send a little money my way and help me run my small business.

Waiting for the train to arrive was a good reason to wear a cloche that is embellished.

It is easy to embellish this type of crocheted hat to resemble a vintage 1920’s hat, as the yarn used makes it heavy enough to sew on a few heavy embellishments.

Taking photos of my model wearing the Wating For The Train Cloche was a fun day.

We went to Spencer West Virginia to the Municipal Park. There is a museum there that has a train station with a caboose on the track. It was the perfect place to take photos.

Using a large cabbage rose that I found at Michaels was perfect to sew on to the side of this hat.

Then a bit of lace was pleated and sewn on the back of the rose. Feathers were then glued into place making a unique and Vintage Inspired Cloche.

You can purchase the crochet pattern at ETSY or RAVELRY

Here are a few other Vintage Inspired Hats.

First is the Purple Passion Cloche. Second is the Great Gatsby Hat. Third is the lovely Pillbox Hat. Last is the Vintage Inspired Chunky Yarn Cloche.

Pin the photo below to your crochet boards so that you can always locate this unique crochet pattern.

It was so good to have you on my side of the mountain. If you crochet this hat, I hope you will let me know.

Take care and God Bless,
Krissy.

No I haven’t! I just ran to look at their website…and that looks like so much fun! Have you taken one of their train rides? I just saw they have a Memorial Day Train ride special. Hmmm…now I am off to see how far it is from my house.

That sounds like wonderful memories. So special. Was that the only way they would travel to see you? How far away from you were they?

Thank you Tina! I love peacock feathers so much. My fella down the road from me has peacocks…I often think I need to introduce myself to him and ask him if he would save some for me.

Thank you Regina! I have sold these at Craft Shows, and I will have folks come back a year or two later to tell me how much they love wearing their hat. They say that they always get a lot of compliments when they wear their hat.

Love making hats most of all. All of my earnings from the sale of my crochet products goes to local grassroots charities in my area. Plus I donate over 100 hats per year to homeless and people in need in my area and in the Arctic city of Iqaluit, Nunavut. I rely a lot on donated yarn, but being a yarn addict, I also buy quite a bit! Lol

How fascinating! So you Iive in Canada? I had never heard of Iqaluit. I did a search and found a fascinating video. I am sure they love all of the hats that you donate! What a blessing you are to them!

I have done something similar to that. It was a variegated pink that had muted browns and greens. Then I placed HUGE spiky pin zinnia on it. It was beautiful!
