Let me show you how to crochet a small shamrock applique with worsted weight (4) yarn. Cotton or acrylic yarn, it doesn’t matter. This shamrock is 3″ tall x 2″ wide.
Crocheting this small shamrock is fairly easy.
Actually if you use larger yarn and a larger hook, it will make a larger shamrock. How fun is that? I also keep forgetting that you can make a garland or bunting with these little cuties.
Here is a video tutorial that will walk you through the steps on how to crochet a mini shamrock.

St. Patrick’s Day was always a fun time as a little girl.
Teachers would decorate the room with shamrocks and leprechauns. Such good memories. Then again, if you forgot to wear green you got pinched all day long. That wasn’t as much fun, but it was memorable.

H-8/5.00 mm hook
STITCH GUIDE:
slp st = Slip Stitch
ch = Chain

trb = treble stitch
Leaf 1: pull the yarn tail toward the hook hand, and crochet over that yarn tail. (in the second ch, slp st, ch4, trbl, hdc, trbl, ch4, slp st) 1st leaf of the shamrock has been made.
Leaf 2: (in the second ch, slp st, ch4, trbl, hdc, trbl, ch4, slp st) 2nd leaf has been made.
Leaf 3: (in the second ch, slp st, ch4, trbl, hdc, trbl, ch4, slp st) 3rd leaf of shamrock is made.

You can really celebrate with a little one, by crocheting her a Shamrock Tutu dress that has a rainbow of ribbons cascading from the shamrock. Type in Shamrock in the search bar, and all of these designs will show up as well as my latest crochet pattern the Floating Shamrock Towel Ring/Holder. It is a premium pattern, but there will be a link to the free video tutorial.
