How To Crochet Shorts For A Baby | Free Pattern

Let me show you how to crochet shorts for a baby. This can be used to make a nautical pair of shorts as I have done. You can also make a few changes to style it for a different theme. One of my followers crocheted these shorts in red. She then added two large yellow circles to the front. Can you guess what Mouse she was trying to imitate?
Momma's Little Firecracker Shorts that has a contrasting red tie in the ribbing at the waist.

This is a fast project to crochet for your baby.

The free crochet pattern is written below. You will find it in preemie, newborn and three months sizes.

I love how you can change up the colors on these sailor shorts to fit a theme.

It is fun to crochet these shorts for a special day or event. Check out this Ravelry Project page to see if you can guess what theme they used to crochet these shorts.

There are a couple of ways that you can acquire the ad free pdf crochet pattern that shows you how to crochet these Nautical baby shorts.

You can keep scrolling and find the free crochet pattern below. You can purchase the bundle at ETSY that includes the Sailor Hat and the Shortalls. You can purchase the pattern for the Shorts only at RAVELRY

Patriotic Shortalls with a sailor hat. There are also a pair of patriotic shorts that have a pull tie at the waist.

There are a few other Nautical / Patriotic Crochet Patterns here on my blog.

The Sailor Baby Bib is a fun project. It shows you how to easily sew on those buttons, so that they don’t shift. The Nautical Shortalls are just so sweet. I used Hobby Lobby’s “I Love This Cotton Yarn”. Momma’s Lil Firecracker Bib Overalls was the first thing I crocheted for my first grandson.

The Red White And Blue Sunhat is so nice when attending a parade or out for a day of golf with your friends. The
Nautical Diaper Cover is perfect for baby in the summer time. This will keep baby cool while still being festive, as they won’t need anything more than a sun hat.

In 2016 I designed this Nautical collection of crochet patterns.

We were expecting our first grandchild so this sweet set was born. My favorite were the Bib Overalls. After I designed the overalls it made sense to create an overall dress for the girls. The sailor hat was a given. The shortalls quickly followed along with these Nautical Shorts. You can purchase the entire collection of Mamma’s Lil Firecracker Crochet patterns in an ebook at RAVELRY or ETSY.
The entire collection of crochet patterns that is included in Momma's Lil Firecracker. From left to right is a pair of sailor Shortalls, sailor shorts and a hat, a girls jumper and sailor hat, and the sailor bell bottomed bibs.

In 2014 I designed this sweet little Bib and Diaper Cover Sailor Set.

My husband had a heart attack that year. It was the first time that a major health incident had happened in my little family. During his recovery at home, crochet was my outlet. I really love nautical clothing on babies. Purchase this bundle of crochet patterns at RAVELRY or ETSY.

A year later I designed a little Rubber Ducky Applique.

It fit so well on a white with pink trim Nautical Diaper cover Set. I made the Rubber Ducky in a bright pink yarn. For the boys I used a light blue yarn with white trim. Then I crocheted the Rubber Ducky in yellow yarn. You can purchase the Rubber Ducky Bundle of ad free crochet patterns, at ETSY .
