Chunky Yarn Hat Crochet Pattern | Vintage Inspired

This Chunky Yarn Hat Crochet Pattern is one of my absolute favorite. It is a super fast make as it uses Wool Ease Thick and Quick Yarn. What may take a bit more time is deciding how to embellish the hat, to give it that vintage inspired feel. Keep scrolling and you will see what I am referring to.

The crochet pattern for this Chunky Yarn Hat can be purchased at RAVELRY or ETSY.

I may use affiliate links in this post, that when clicked on will not cost you a thing, but will send a little money my way, to help me in my small business. Thank you so much for your support.

Back in the day when I designed this unique Cloche it received a lot of attention.

Way back in 2015 Lion Brand Yarn Featured it on one of their blog posts. I was absolutely thrilled with the shout out. It meant so much to me then, and it still does today.

Lion Brand’s Wool Ease Thick and Quick is perfect to make a 1920’s style of Cloche, as it can hold the weight of stylish embellishments.

Embellishing this type of hat made with chunky yarn is a delight.

Choosing the right silk flower, feathers and vintage jewelry can be a breath taking experience. That experience where you gasp when the right pieces come together to create something beautiful? Yeah…that kind of breath taking experience.

My mother wore earrings like what is in the center of that brown rose.

What a joy it was to create this combination. My mother is long gone and creating the embellishments for this Chunky yarn hat made her seem close to me as it brought up beautiful memories.

Adding feathers was something that just made me so happy.

I love peacock feathers. I’m not sure if you can see that Ostrich plume, but it’s there and boy does it pull the embellishments together.

The embellishments on this next design uses a modern day piece of jewelry, and the instructions is included in the Chunky Yarn Hat Crochet Pattern.

RAVELRY or ETSY

One of my best friends purchased this hat from me.

It warms my heart knowing she wears it when she is out and about during the cold months here in West Virginia.

I have designed a few other Vintage Crochet Hats.

There are days that the Pillbox hat is my favorite, then other days it’s a cloche. Here are links to the Hats in the photo.  Purple Passion Cloche. Second is the Great Gatsby Hat. Third is the lovely Pillbox Hat. Last is the Womans Fancy Chemo Cap.

I hope you enjoyed this stroll down memory lane with me highlighting this Chunky Yarn Hat.

It really does make a beautiful Vintage Inspired Cloche. You can purchase the ad free pdf now at Ravelry or Etsy.

It was so good to have you on my side of the mountain.

I hope you will come again soon. Don’t stay away too long.

I do too. When I go to an antique shop, I am always drawn to the Hats. I loved the hats that they wore in the Downton Abbey series.

Using old earrings to embellish a hat! Great idea. I’ve had about 1/2 dozen earrings I simply loved and lost one of the pair. Darn. Of course they were unique
In design, color combo, lightweight but large, etc. I just couldn’t toss the remaining earring. I could use them as embellishments. Ahhh.
