This just Chenille crochet cowl has an unmatched level of softness and warmth. Its plush, velvet-like texture feels gentle on the skin and creates a comforting hug around the neck. This cowl is the perfect companion to the Just Chenille Chemo Cap.

The Inspiration Behind the Just Chenille Cowl
The Just Chenille Cowl was designed to be a perfect match for the Just Chenille Chemo Cap.
A fellow pink warrior once shared with me that when she lost her hair during chemo, her neck felt so cold all the time. She told me she used to live in a fleece cowl.
It was the only thing that made her feel warm and comforted. From now on, if I am able, I will design a companion Cowl to go with the Chemo Caps.

A Thoughtful Addition for Cancer Center Donations
If you’re crocheting to donate to your local cancer center, this Just Chenille Cowl would be a welcome addition to your handmade gift.
It will be a help to many chemo patients who experience chills. Having a soft, warm cowl to pair with a chemo cap can make a world of difference.
This cowl will be so welcome when donated at the same time as the Just Chenille Chemo Cap,

-
This crochet pattern is written in US terms.

It is worked in the round, with a join at the end of each round.

Place a marker at the beginning of each round, as chenille yarn can make it hard to see the stitches.

Free Chemo Cap Crochet Patterns You’ll Love
If you’re crocheting for someone with extra sensitive skin, you may want to choose a different yarn than chenille.
I highly recommend using Lion Brand Coboo or Truboo yarns instead. These silky-smooth bamboo and cotton blends are incredibly soft and gentle, making them perfect for chemo caps designed with comfort in mind.
You’ll find several of my free chemo cap crochet patterns made with these yarns right here on my blog.
Take a look at a few favorites: the Peekaboo Ridge Chemo Cap, Simply Ridged Chemo Cap, Double Down Chemo Cap, Mesh Beanie Chemo Cap, Mesh Cloche Chemo Cap, and the elegant Dressed Up Chemo Cap, which is made with Truboo bamboo yarn.
Each pattern includes helpful tips and detailed instructions so you can create something truly comforting for someone walking through the chemo journey.
