Welcome Back!
Today’s fancy hat is made with Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick Yarn. This yarn is lovely and is perfect for crocheting a hat that can hold embellishments, but I do not recommend it for chemo patients, as it has wool in the yarn.
The second hat has a vintage feel and is designed for Chemo patients in mind. It is made using Lion Brand’s Coboo yarn. There are other soft yarns out there that you can use for a chemo patient, if you can achieve gauge. I don’t recommend acrylic yarn if the patient’s skin is sensitive.
I hope you enjoy today’s selection of hats and are of help to you.
The Fancy Hat that uses the chunky yarn is something that I sold at craft shows. I asked a pretty penny, and most times, I would have to refresh my inventory after a show.
April 20th 10 copies of the “Vintage Inspired Chunky Cloche” can be won.

I hope that today’s selection of hats are of help to you.
The “Pretty Pink Pearls” Chemo cap is the latest chemo cap that I have designed. It was released during Sweet Potato 3’s Cancer Challenge last October. It has been my joy to participate in this even for several years.
The Fancy Hat being that you have a chance to win today, uses bulky yarn just like yesterday’s Cloche.
It was the first vintage inspired hat that I designed. It uses Debra Norville’s Serenity yarn. The fabric of the hat is sturdy, but the yarn is acrylic. I don’t recommend this yarn for a chemo patient, unless they let you know that their skin isn’t sensitive.
April 20th 10 copies of the “Waiting on the Train Hat” can be won.

The “Pretty Pink Pearls” chemo cap uses Lion Brand Coboo yarn. I really like this yarn for chemo patients, as it is comfortable for them to wear.
The turned up peak is fastened down with a vintage earring I found in my stash. It’s the perfect pearl addition to this pink pearls chemo cap.
This Pretty Pink Pearls Chemo Cap is lovely. It has miniature popcorns all over the hat, and they look like little pearls.

Today’s selection of Spring hats fall into the category of elegant and lovely.
The vintage inspired Pillbox hat would be hard for a chemo patient to wear, unless they wanted to use a scarf. You know, put a long rectangular scarf over their head, put on the Pillbox hat and then cross the ends of the scarf under the chin, throwing one end to the back.
Let’s talk about how you can win this free copy of the Pillbox Hat Crochet Pattern.

This fuzzy chemo cap was the first chemo cap I designed after my cancer diagnosis. It was a cold time of the year, and I wanted a hat that would be stylish and warm. I asked the folks at the cancer center if they thought this hat would be good to donate, and they said some of the older ladies might enjoy this hat. I don’t recommend this type of yarn if the chemo patient has sores on their head. So you may need to take that into consideration if making this for a loved one who is really struggling with their treatments.
This Pipsqueak Fuzzy Chemo Cap is so soft. If a chemo patient doesn’t have sores on their head, they might enjoy this warm but stylish hat.

Today’s selection of Spring hats fall into the category of elegant and lovely.
The Boston Velvet Hat is a fun and quick make. The crown is simple, then shells down the sides of the hat, after that is a trendy turned up brim. Make a floppy pom and you are ready for the slopes, or to keep yourself warm if you are a chemo patient.

This mesh chemo cap was designed the spring after my cancer diagnosis. I didn’t have to take chemo or undergo radiation, but I did try the hormone therapy. It created horrible hot flashes. I was imagining women who had lost their hair during breast cancer treatments wearing a hat in the summer. That seemed to me as if it would be unbearable. Hence the reason for a mesh chemo cap. It would still give a little coverage but have a cooling effect.
This Mesh Chemo Cap is so soft and has a lot of airflow, for those dealing with horrible hot flashes.

Let’s step back in time to the Roaring 20’s! I am also offering a Child Sized Chemo Cap that has a vintage feel.
This Roaring 20’s inspired hat is so fun to make and to wear. If you don’t want the glitz and the feathers it has a retro vibe. Think Kristie Brinkley…90’s fashion. This hat fits right into that era as well.

This chemo cap is made out of Lion Brand Homespun Thick and Quick. It is no longer available. I designed this many years ago and I have since learned that a lot of chemo patients have a hard time wearing hats made out of acrylic yarn. The blog post will explain all of that and give you options on what kind of yarn to use.

This next chemo cap was designed years before I was diagnosed with Cancer. This design uses a (5) bulky weight yarn. The peak at the side is perfect for adding bling. You can make a wide turned up brim if you don’t want the peak. This is a great pattern, but choose your yarn carefully if you are donating to a Cance patient going through chemo.

Today’s Fancy Hat is Trendy. I love to use Lion Brands Wool Ease Thick and Quick Yarn or Hometown USA. Boy is this hat fast to make, but I DO NOT RECOMMEND WOOL EASE for chemo patients.

Today’s Fancy Hat is another trendy design and is named after my friend Wendy, as she gifted me the yarn. It uses Hometown USA. I really love the Mop Pom. It is so fast and easy to make. I don’t recommend this design for chemo patients, but you will love the chemo cap design that is free today.
